I gained 7 pounds in the past three weeks. This was preceded by 8 pounds a month prior and 7 more pounds five weeks before that. If you do the math thats WAY TOO MANY pounds according to my doctor.
I only gained 5 pounds in the first three and 1/2 months. This places me at 27 pounds and I'm six 1/2 months into the pregnancy. I was slated to gain 25-35 total and am at a point where the baby is growing quickly.
This saddens me a bit, but then I asked what happens when the baby is too big - growing to quickly...
Dr. Ring's response was 1. The delivery can be complicated (well I'm having a C-section) and 2. I'll have a more difficult time losing the weight after the pregnancy. But there wasn't nothing that put the baby in danger, so I'm not going to worry about it too much. My fiance loves me and he doesn't care if it takes a while for me to lose the weight. Plus, I'm hoping to breast feed so I should lose the weight at a faster rate than women who do not choose this option. And, I'm hoping to break Robby by June 30. Riding alone will help me get back into shape. It always does.
As long as little George isn't affected, I'm taking my friends' advice and not worrying about it too much.
I get the results back tomorrow about the gestational diabetes. Hopefully this comes back clean. Then I can keep walking, yogaing and start swimming. Other than cutting down on the amount of juice I drink (
