On a more scary note, he also touched the top of our mini-grill that had been used a couple hours prior and screamed in terror. I was right there to rip his hand away and luckily it was more of a sting than a burn. I ran upstairs and ran cold water over his poor little paw. It was fine, but I think this was a great learning experience (for both him and me). I sternly said, NO, Hot, ouch, repeat. This is a why we try to say "Un ah" instead of "no" when he does something wrong. We want to save NO for the important things. He's so smart, I know he'll remember. He listens and doesn't climb the stairs, he leaves the wine glasses alone and doesn't mess with the dog bowl or the cat door. He's a great kid.
Lastly, after the near-burn scare mommy (I talk in the third person with him all day, I should probably stop that) wanted to cuddle extra tight. Colton's really not much of a cuddlier, but I convinced him to sit on my lap, on the living room rocking chair. We turned on NickJr and he watched his first full episode of anything! We don't typically watch TV with Colton. It was Team Umizoomi, "Legend of the Blue Mermaid." He found Squiddy and danced to the songs.
I love this little guy so much!
