Anyways I've been pleasantly surprised with Tina's a few times for having "not-to-fresh" items. I have purchased milk there that has spoiled the next day. This is not-so-good. But the first time I was ecstatic was last January when the Mountain Dew throwback had been discontinued for months. Ya-hooo! I like to think the "real sugar" aids in the "health penalties" associated with drinking the real stuff. They had two 12-packs still sitting in their back stock = Jackpot!
My sexy, wonderful boyfriend penned a piece that landed on the New Year's Milwaukee Journal Sentinel front page. His ex-wife sent him a e-file about how the story was pegged as "something to read." This is very nice of her. My only job was to find a couple hard copies. I totally forgot until George reminded me at about 3 p.m. yesterday. Arghh. I'm proud of him and think he is a wonderful writer, but was so engulfed in survey tabulation I've been tethered to my dining room table and forgot.
I quickly ran out looking for the Saturday paper. First gas station - only the New York Times remained. The second gas station already had the Early Sunday edition. Walgreens - nope. Pick n' Save -- nothing. :( Since George is en route to his new job at WPTZ Plattsburgh/Burlington = Girlfriend FAIL.
My dad is visiting and helping me with survey tabulation. We realized this morning that there were only two eggs - not gonna do it for a scrambled egg breakfast. Dad ran to Tina's and yippitieyahooo - they have papers from the week prior (do not tell the newspapers as this will totally throw their readership numbers - ha ha ha).
They had one left from Saturday! Thank you Tina's Food Mart for carrying "not-so-fresh" items. Oldies but goodies make for great girlfriend redemption.
