I was right. I got to the narrow part right before that little street that leads to the safe house, Commerce I believe. Since we have about 8 feet of residual snow crap on the sides of the roads (they're not so good at plowing here - they have no place to put it!) the cars in the parking lane were out a bit further (like 2 feet) than normal.
I was hugging the center line from the right lane and dah dah dah dum! The dreaded mini-van... In other MoTBs (moral of the Blog) I've noted how if it weren't a mini-van that was in the accident - they pissed off the person causing one. Yep - that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Anyway, I'm hugging the center lane until the mini-van next to me decided to push me back into my already down-sized right lane. Bastard. The next thing I hear is CRACK - BOOM!
I pulled over and walked back (I know I'm stupid and that's why I pay so much money fixing all the wrongs I cause) to the scene. There was a lanky JJ driver standing there saying, "Shit, that scared the shit out of me! I went to open my door and BAM!" - Yep, I happened.
Other than scaring the poor lad out of his high, there wasn't any damage that he could see to his car. I on the other hand have already paid $274 for a new mirror that will run me another $90 tomorrow to have it painted and then installation. I also need a new timing belt so the stupid Kia that I love is going to run me another $1000! Yikes. Poor Kia.
