George took Colton to his year check-up on Wednesday. The doctor asked him if he was pointing yet. George said no. And like clock-work Colton pulls it out of his bag of tricks today. He's been pointing like a hunting dog. Tonight he pointed at his birthday balloon, the horses in his book and everything else.
He also had a gigantic dinner. We started with two baby mum-mums, followed by two ice-tray chunks of warmed up chicken, potatoes and carrots. Then he ate four large broccoli florets, another mum-mum and ground beef. Oh and a 5 oz BM bottle with rice and his probiotic. It's so nice that he's able (and willing) to hold his bottle from start to finish now. Just in time to give it up. The doctor suggested to George that we start introducing soy or whole milk. Granted my production is way down ever since I got super sick in January, but I'm still producing just a little more than he needs daily - enough to still have a couple week supply if needed. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to stop pumping, but why switch if it's not needed, nor is it as healthy... Silly doctors. BM is for babies.

Today at daycare Colton was standing at a table when I arrived. I was coming to discuss his summer contract. He let go of the table and took two steps toward me. I consider this walking. He really hasn't wanted to try much since. But this was a big day!
Noticed that the upper right tooth next to the front tooth came in today. He's really able to munch those mum mums now! Colton is such a good teether. No
George took Colton in for a check-up on his breathing today. It appeared all is well. The doctor suggested that if we are finding ourselves needing to nebulize him more than twice-week (we weaned him off of all inhalants about two weeks ago), that we should start him on the steroid again... I thought we already ruled out the damn steroid.
I don't think we'll be taking the doctor's order on this one. Good news is that for the first time baby's height is out-scoring his weight on the % chart. Baby Colt measures in today at 30.5" long = 80th percentile 23.11 lbs = 69th percentile Good growin' baby. Soon after arrival Colton reached over and pulled Mason's hair, pretty hard, at daycare today. Poor litte Mase makes the saddest little scrunchy baby faces when he's about to cry. I went over, sat on the floor and picked him up for comfort. Colton was not sure he thought I should be holding another baby and crawled toward us.
He stopped, stood up like a gopher, and stared at me and Mason. Both Stacey and I were speechless witnessing Colton's first public display of free-standing. He then sat back down and crawled away to attack some toys. Afternoon Amber told us that he did this two more times in the afternoon. The standing that is, not the hair pulling. So proud of our little man. |
